There are always a thousand things to do on 'Alpe Selvaccia' ... Working on the land, harvesting the vegetables, chopping wood, cleaning, lighting a fire, etc. Never a dull moment on our mountain. Moreover because we have big plans with 'Alpe'. We would like to turn it into a real back-to-basic Retreat Center. Where families and groups would like to come (back). Where cows and horses graze and happy bees buzz around ...

 

Step by step we would therefore like to renovate all the cabins and make everything more self-sufficient:

• Improving the water source with storage tank 

• Building a bath house with sanitary facilities: sinks, showers and toilets

• Preparing sleeping lofts

• Constructing a swimming pond

• Installing (atmospheric) lighting in the cabins based on light energy and/or solar panels

• Repairing and renewing the roofs

• Constructing of a new rustic indoor and outdoor kitchen

• Making authentic wood fired pizza oven

• Building a yoga platform

• Preparing the winter residence Etc. etc. etc

 

And we like to do this all together. With you. So that it becomes a supported project. So that we can build together. Cutting and sawing together. Working together on our joint vision for the future. With our Seppi as our big leader and support. With its boundless energy. Of course the large projects are taken care of by a local contractor, but we can always do the smaller jobs ourselves.

 

"Workweek" at 'Alpe'

As efficient Dutchmen, we immediately started off working out all of our plans. We already have had three wonderful and very successful workweeks. With former participants, interested parties, friends and friends of friends. This year there there is again the (unique) opportunity to literally roll up your sleeves. Get away from your computer and work with materials that are available. You will have the opportunity to learn from professionals. The construction will be supervised by great Seppi and his brothers who have endless experience in 'back-to-basic' building and renovation with natural materials.
